How to measure for curtains
You only need a tape measure and four numbers. Write them down, then Nenxo can turn them into a rod size, curtain length and panel count.
Write down these four numbers
- Window width
- Free wall space on the left
- Free wall space on the right
- From the planned top of the rod to the floor
If you already found curtains online, also write down the width and length of one panel.
1. Measure the window width
Measure straight across the window. You can use the outside edges of the trim or the opening itself—just keep the same reference for the whole plan.
Example: if the window measures 60 in across, enter 60 in. Nenxo will add the extra rod space you choose on each side.
2. Measure the free wall on both sides
From the left edge of the window, measure to the nearest corner, cabinet, switch or other obstacle. Do the same on the right. These two numbers stop the calculator from suggesting a rod that will not physically fit.
3. Measure from the planned rod to the floor
Hold the tape where the top of the rod or track will sit and measure down to the finished floor. For a wide window, check more than one point if the floor may be uneven.
4. If you already found curtains, copy the product size
Look for the width and length of one panel in the store listing. Do not assume the photo shows how many panels are included. If the product is sold as a pair, the Nenxo comparison lets you set “Panels in one pack” to 2.
Optional: bracket measurement
You only need this if you want mounting marks. Check your curtain-rod instructions for the distance from the rod end to the wall bracket. The main shopping result works without touching this setting.
