Methodology

Room measurements stay separate from product-specific assumptions.

Rod width

rod width = window width + (2 × extension)

Target flat fabric width

target fabric = rod width × target fullness

Panel count

minimum panels = ceiling(target fabric ÷ one panel width)

For centre-opening curtains, an odd result rounds up to the next even number. Actual fullness is recalculated from the whole panels you would buy.

Finished drop

Float subtracts 0.5 in (1.27 cm), kiss adds nothing, break adds 1.5 in (3.81 cm), and puddle adds 4 in (10.16 cm) to the entered rod-to-floor measurement.

Bracket coordinates

left bracket = -extension + bracket inset
right bracket = window width + extension - bracket inset

The left edge of your measured window is coordinate zero.

Ready-made product comparison

For each product, Nenxo first calculates the whole number of panels required from the current rod width and target fullness. It then converts that into whole packs: packs = ceiling(required panels ÷ panels per pack). Actual fullness is recalculated from every panel you would receive. Product drop is compared with the target finished drop; a product that is shorter than target is flagged rather than treated as fixable by hemming. Total cost is packs × price per pack when a price is entered.

What Nenxo does not guess

  • Wall anchors, stud locations or safe working loads.
  • Centre-support requirements.
  • Manufacturer-specific bracket geometry.
  • Fabric shrinkage, workroom allowances or exact stack-back.
