How many curtain panels do I need?
Use the width of the rod or track the curtains must cover, choose your target fullness and enter the flat width of one ready-made panel. Nenxo rounds the maths to panels and packs you can actually buy.
Panel count is a whole-number shopping problem
The width calculation can produce a decimal panel count, but stores do not sell 2.9 panels. Nenxo first calculates the minimum whole panels needed for the target fullness. For centre-opening curtains, an odd result rounds to the next even number so the two sides can stay balanced.
Why packs can increase the amount of fabric again
If a listing sells two panels per pack, four panels means two packs. If a listing sells three per pack, a four-panel minimum still requires two packs, so you would receive six panels. The calculator separates minimum panels from panels purchased and recalculates actual fullness from what arrives in the packs.
Use rod width, not only the glass
Fullness applies to the span the curtains close across. If the rod extends beyond the window, using only glass width will understate how much fabric is needed. If the rod is not installed, use the rod length calculator first.
What this calculator does not decide
- It does not choose a fullness ratio for you; fabric, heading and desired look matter.
- It does not check curtain length; use the curtain length guide or full calculator for that.
- It does not estimate rod load or safe wall fixings.
