Multi-window shopping planner

Plan curtains for a whole room

Different window sizes should not be averaged into one guess. Add each window or door type, choose how many you have and get one combined plan for rods, panels, packs and optional cost.

Step 1

Set the curtain rules once

These choices apply to every window type below. Use separate plans if different windows will use different curtain styles.

Step 2

Add each window type

Name it, enter the width and planned rod-to-floor height, then set how many matching openings you have.

Up to 10 window types. Calculations stay in your browser and are not uploaded.

Why a room planner is different from multiplying one result

If every window is identical, the main curtain size calculator already has a matching-windows quantity. A mixed room is different: a 60 in window and a 72 in patio door need different rod spans and may round to different panel counts even with the same fullness and panel width.

Worked example: two 60 in windows plus one 72 in patio door, with 8 in extension per side, 2× fullness and 52 in panels, produce 4 panels per opening. The combined plan is 12 panels. If the product comes two panels per pack, that becomes 6 whole packs.

What to keep the same — and what may differ

Keep one plan when...

The windows will use the same curtain product, panel width, fullness, opening style and floor finish. Only width, drop and quantity need to vary.

Start another plan when...

A bedroom uses different fabric, a patio door uses a different heading, or one opening needs short curtains above a radiator while another runs to the floor.

Before ordering the whole room

  • Check whether the listing sells one panel or a pair.
  • Verify each product length against the target drop, not against the window height.
  • Check long rods or tracks for centre/intermediate support requirements.
  • Re-measure the widest and tallest openings before buying non-returnable products.

Need help choosing the inputs?

Use the measuring guide for the four room measurements, then the fullness and length guides for the two style decisions that change quantities most.
